In a daylight theft incident, the miscreants camped here with ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20,000 in cash from a house in the upscale Ashok Nagar locality under Argora police station.

According to a local resident, the house belongs to Baijnath Pandey, who deals in batteries. Located in Twin Tower Apartment in front of Ashok Nagar Road No. 5 Gate.

“Pandey Ji left home with his wife at 11 am to attend a teachers-parents meeting at Gurunanak School, where his daughter studies. When he returned around 12:00 p.m., he noticed a cut through the gate latch. After entering his flat, he found household items scattered, a steel Almirah open and valuables missing,” said a resident.

An FIR is yet to be registered in this regard. “We started the probe after collecting CCTV footage from the locality. It seems that someone was following his movement after taking advantage of his short absence to commit theft,” Argora police station officer Brij Kumar Jha said.
